Mine did the same thing the other day for the 1st time, but then again it was pretty cold in NJ that day. We'll see how they act in the spring. They over 5 years old now.

There is a member named jtabraham that has heavy duty after market hatch shocks that he sells. I put them on and no more getting hit in the head. And I even have a heavy a$$ wing on the hatch. I think I paid 125.00 for them but well worth it.

There was a GB on another site - right around $100 for stainless steel. Got them and love them, you really have to tug to close the hatch.

Yeah. If you actually move the trunk up and down quickly it seems to stay. But, the reason is the cold. Idk how it works if you just move it up and down really fast, but it does. Seems to not hold at about 30 degrees

Sometimes my won't push up anymore, but at the same time I haven't had my hatch attack me or try to eat me so I'm good.

if you want the trunk to stay up, pump it up and down a couple of times, it will stay up.

Had a problem with it closing down on its own a few days ago, and tried this method right after, and it seemed to have worked.

yup, it works. But at the slightest touch pulling it down, it will drop fast.
