Default Seats - May sell my car b/c of them.

Hey guys I am 6'3 with a 03 Track. The previous owner added leather from the dealer. I have had the car for about 6 months now and just can't get comfortable.

The seat bottom is always as far back as it goes. I feel like there is change or something blocking the rail from going back another inch or two. I looked theres not. When I try to keep my seat back normal I am up SO HIGH I am towering over everything in the car. So I recline all the way to uncomfortable sleep mode.

This is a problem that I am not going to live with. I have driven plenty of sports cars, the only one that was ever small for me was a S2000. I also own a 93 RX-7 that I have never been uncomfortable in. Even my fathers Z4 is 10X as comfortable.

So either my seats are f'd up from the leather installation which seems very unlikely, or this car just isn't for me. Is there anything I should look into/try before I give up and sell the car.

Recline able racing seats w/ low rails? That would give you 2in or so?

the stack seats in the Z are rated by most popular car magazines as much more comfortable than the RX-8, Mustang or the C-6.....Are you sure they are the stock seats?
[....I am also 6'3" and I love the seats...

No point in driving a car that's uncomfortable.

I'm 5'5" and I can't get comfortable in mine either. It's only been 1.5 weeks, but there's only so much you can do. My cheapo GTI fits me like a glove. I feel like the seat is arched, like someone has put me in the rack.
No way in hey-yell I'm giving up this car though I'll grin and bear it!

I'm 6"2 and don't have any issue with the seats... maybe you can adjust your seats "height" with the round **** near near your door and see if it helps.

I've driven a S2000 before and I feel the Z is much more comfortable in terms of legroom and I find the Z more spacious.

seats look fine....I dunno...sit in another Z with cloth seats, and see how you like it. If it feets better, swap em out. I had a SB with leather and the seats were not as comfortable IMO...something about the leather being kinda hard??

6'3" and I find the Z very comfortable; I have a good 2-3" between my head and the roof. The poster above gave a good tip on adjusting the seat bottom if you haven't already. But if you have an unusually long torso compared to your legs, not much will help you other than lowering your seats on aftermarket rails. There is a 6'5" guy here who did that.

I'm sorry but did you not sit in the car and test drive it before you bought it? Anyways, if none of the adjustment issues people have suggested works you may wanna look into Bride's lo max line. They cost an arm and a leg but if you like the car, they may be worth it.

Can't tell from the picture for sure but maybe the seat isn't all the way back. Recently had to remove the seat from my Frontier for the same reason. A penny had lodged in the tracks preventing the seat from full travel.
On my Z the front edge of the seat back release handle is even with the aluminum on the door sill plate when the seat is all the way back. Check your passenger seat to see if it goes back farther, they obviously should be the same.

Must be just something wrong with your seats.
Try sitting in another Z.

Raise the front part of the seats so to elevate your legs (****). If you really cant figure the seat out then buy a new one. I dont understand why you would sell the car and lose a couple thousand just because you dont know how to sit down in your own car.

Im also a pretty tall guy (6'4"). I drove a touring edition when I got my car that had leather seats. It never felt quite right. The car I bought with the cloth seats is much better IMO. I suggest you try a car with factory cloth seats and give it a try.

I thought the stock seats were pretty comfortable. I'm only 5' 8" though.

I swapped my stockers out for Corbeau Forza's which are a fixed back racing bucket, and then drove the car 1k miles to Las Vegas, with no problems. But its all really personal preference. If you really cant live with the seating then I guess you should get a different car.

If you think that's uncomfortable, then you don't want to sit in my sparcos. I'm 6'3 and hate life when I drive it around town sometimes, but on the track and spirited driving it's a blast. Good thing I have a daily though.

Yeah i'd suggest trying out a car that you know has stock seats for sure. Weird though, I have a touring w/ leather seats and i'm 6'6" and am comfy.
