Default Auto headlights

I was just wandering, does anyone else here hate the fact that you have to turn your lights on and off. Most of the cars I have driven have Automatic lights, so they just come on. When I am in a bright area, I usually forget to turn the on, I just don't notice them.

Not a single car that I've owned has had the auto headlights. I'm very much capable of turning them on myself. Talk about being lazy...

Read your owners manual. If you leave them on when you turn off the car, they will go off automatically after 5 minutes. I assume the next time you turn the ignition on, the lights will come back on automatically.

My friend has an 05 maxima and she can change the time to like two minutes. Is there a way to do that on the Z?

I hate auto lights and am glad I don't have them.

I hate when people leave their auto lights on after they leave on purpose, too. How hard is it to turn the switch..

If I had auto headlights I would disable them---Just as I disable ALL automatic decision makers. Im operating the machine, the machine is not operating me.

That goes for everything from my Riding Lawnmower to my chainsaw to my car.

When you get out of the habit of makeing your own decisions you forget how.... and blame others for your FUs

Just ordered this today and will install it when it arrives. Having a vehicle with automatic headlights is VERY nice once you get used to it. Granted it isn't hard to turn the headlights on and off, but never having to think about it sure is nice. Did some searching it this will also handle daylight running lights if you want to set it up that way.

Thanks for the link, I've been looking for an aftermarket system for awhile now.

Now the daytime running lights are cool. Studies show they decrese wrecks with vechiles with them by upto 50% which means cheaper insurance.

I installed one on my last car. It's not hard at all. I installed it along with the whole remote start alarm system. To about 2 hours or so to do it all.

Yep - exactly. That's why I want them. I'm old and stupid. Thanks for your brilliant post - you've helped out this thread tremendously. So how many years of college do YOU have?

Old AND Stupid is a fine Kettle of Fish.

In all due respect, as I stated earlier. Learning not to rely on things being done for you, is good for the mind. If you find youself in a situation where those conveniences arent at hand, it may save your ***

Yep, I totally agree with that. Which is why I would never defeat the actual switch. I've had this in a GMC truck since 2003 - and love the feature. My wife has it in her Armada, but it works differently. There is a setting on the light switch to use auto mode. The problem is that isn't the default setting, so it never gets used.
