I never have understood why people remove the rear wipers on the Z. While I can understand from a visual perspective, I prefer to keep the wiper for the functionality (however limited...lol).

What would impress me, would be to have a flap cut in the hatch that could be engineered to have the wiper hidden during normal use, and pop up when it rains. I have thought of this as a mod but am too afraid to go cutting my hatch.

If I come across a wrecked Z I would get the hatch and experiment, IMHO that would give the best of both worlds. Anyone out there brave enough and inclined enough to try???

Not sure what that means...I hope it's a good thing.

BTW this could be a killer mod if done right. A panel about 24 inches across and 3-4 inches wide cut into the hatch could house the wiper blade assembly (blade and motor) . This would need to attached in an upside down position (so that it would be upright when the panel flips up). Servos could be used to move the panel up & down. There should be enough room inside ( between the hatch and the plastic liner). The more I think about it......

it means it not worth the trouble. either leave the wiper as is, or do the plug

I am getting a forum sponsorship soon so that I can start selling these on here directly as a vendor, Let me know if you would like to pre-order for the forum discounted price!

Roughly a week ago I purchased a V.2 kit and have yet to receive an e-mail to confirm purchase. Although, Paypal has verified money transfer.

Perhaps Gotplugs will get this message, please send my kit!

Don't worry, it will come. He is very willing to please and a good seller. My experience with him was great and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Just be patient and send a quick PM to DriftMyRide.

I guess age has a lot to do with it! I L-O-V-E my rear wiper--it rains a lot in
Puerto Rico, we even have a Rain Forest. I'm 59, and my stock '04 Touring
Coupe is FINE as is, as far as I'm concerned.

so as opposed to having a wiper on your hatch, you would rather have a cut out panel right in the middle of the hatch because i feel those 1/8-1/4 inch gaps would look horrible compared to a wiper.
