30k for a bodykit?
I wonder what the true cost of that would be...
someone with experiance in making carbon fiber pieces, is there really 30k worth of materials and labor for that body kit? and it can't be cause of R/D. R/D already comes out of the regukar 8k kit.

Dry Carbon bumper on a GT car cost more then 20k.. and that's just the front bumper
I'm sure there's a lot more than 8k in R&D. A lot of people seriously underestimate the amount of R&D that goes into these parts.
Remember that these companies don't do this for the looks alone, they want something that performs on all levels aswell.
30k for what is effectively the entire shell of the car in dry carbon. Not bad.
You can get the standard one for 8k.
I personally think it looks horrible. But i'm sure it's all very functional.

Ok well let's say they put a small mark up on it..the whole kit is 30k so maybe...they put a 5k mark up on it..somewhere around there.
Is there really 20-25k worth of materials and labor(making the kit)?
I'm not doubting, I'm just seriously curious.

the car that it was designed around (the NISMO 380RS) is far more expensive than $30k and was not offered for sale in the US
So how much does it cost to make the kit? Well even in FRP the molds alone would be in the $100k range. And even befoe that Amuse had to get a car to do the work on (they are doing lots of development work on the 380RS, so they got a car in house to do everything to - but this particular model in Japan is not cheap!). Then you have material costs (including overage), labor costs (including overage), packaging costs, and of course, shipping an entire kit like that, no matter if its going cross country or across the globe isn't cheap either
Yes, it is insanely expensive....definite drool factor
You guys will be seeing a Z this year with the genuine kit as we just ordered one for a customer. Nope, not in dry carbon, but still, it should be absolutely stunning when its completed, as the car it's going on is already extensively modded
