Default How to minimize interior rattle noises?

Nothing bothers me more than have interior rattle noises coming from all the plastic dash peices. Being that i have solid motor mounts it is almost a un-avoidable issue. When i picked up my car with the motor mounts it really wasn't that bad, but ever since i installed my pioneer AVIC D3 i get this buzzing sound everytime the engine hits a certain rpm range( ). This leads me to believe it is the trim that goes around the headunit. My question is what steps can i take to resolve this issue? Has anyone else experienced this after installing a aftermarket hu?

Please help save my sanity !!!!

start holding pieces in your car that rattles when the bass hits. If it solves the rattle where you are holding, you need to stop that piece from rattling. Try taking out console to see where the plastic trim is ratttling.

its not the bass, its the fact that i have solid motor mounts. This results in a significant amount of engine vibration. I think i narrowed it down to the problem being the trim of the stereo. What material should i use?

My 350Z is a rattle trap, always has been since day I bought it new. It makes me want to sell it for that reason alone. No matter what the dealer did, it just kept rattleing. Part of the reason is Mossy Nissan refuses to hire skilled techs.

it seems like i am not the only one with problems then . It just sucks to have a car w/ only 11,000 miles on it and have all these interior rattle sounds you would get from a old beater car .

Hell even my moms 05 g35 rattles like SOB. I would expect a more sound interior to come with a luxury brand sedan.

Dude my car is pretty bad too, I have tons of rattling weather it be in the 3 gauge pod, or the plastic cover near the vent on the dash driver side, I cant stop it, I hate it. Not sure what to do, guess just blast the music.

I am basically trying to trick myself into thinking it is a performance car now and these issues just come with the territory, but then i think of a porsche might sound inside and it just pisses me off more

go buy felt. Remove center console and line every edge with it. Do this with your A-pillars too (mine rattled over every hard bump). and redo you mirror.

2 hours and your car is done. there really arent too many contact points in the interior. take your time and enjoy your ride.

hahahaah! My gf gets so pissed at me when she rides w/ me because i make her keep the music up and make her speak over the music. The music helps drown her out and the rattles

Rattles drove me insane for almost a year. Especially the 2 plastic covers near the vents on the dash. I ripped off every piece I could to find all rattles and went velcro crazy, small pieces here and there. Been rattle free since.
