Seat removal question
Are there any precautions to be taken before removing the leather seat equipped with air bags? It is the drivers side seat on the Touring model. It looks like 4 screws hold the seat to the floor of the car and 1 or 2 wires to disconnect underneath the seat. I don't want to set off the air bags so any input would be appreciated. -Pete
when i changed my seats i had an airbag experts solder a resistor into the harness to fool the system that the sides were still present. you can safely remove the seats with out unhooking the battery. just make sure your keys are not in the ignition.
Thanks for the reply but I would not know where to solder the resister you mention. Would disconnecting the battery be sufficient enough to prevent the air bags from going off during seat removal?
P.S Your car looks great! I also have SuperBlack, but all stock for now.

neither do i... hahaha thats why i ended up paying them to do the work. and they dont charge cheap too! but it is possible just with a resistor soldered on the right wires
and you dont need to remove the battery just make sure your key is not in the ignition.
thanks for the compliments

well just disconnected the battery when removing the seats. Reconnected after you have the seats back in. I would think a 3k ohm resister would be more than enough to do it, but why take the chance.
