Default iPod/MP3 Location

I just got the ipod adapter for my navi, and am struggling to find a place to store my iPod. I have seen some people that did some custom fabrication stuff, however I'm not sure if I want to go that route.

I was thinking about sticking it behind the driver seat with the brains, but taking it out to sync it with my computer would be a PITA.

Any ideas?

your head unit will allow you to control it remotely? and its going to be in a spot that it gets charged when the car is running? if so to both, exactly how long would it take you to get it out of the area behind the drivers seat? if its say, less than 2 or 3 minutes to get it out so that you can sync it with your pc, then i say that's the place to put it.

Personally i still have to control the ipod, my head unit does not control the ipod, so i keep mine in the cubby over the head unit. another spot would be in the arm rest...but i find the cubby easier.

I have the AVIC-N2 with the iPod adapter. All the brains are in the spot behind the driver's seat where most people put a sub. I was thinking about trying to run the wire into the glove box behind the passenger seat, but that would probably require cutting a hole in the box.

Arm rest container place is the next best thing I have thought of, but i believe I would need to cut a hole in there too.

Keep the idea's coming, I know people have come across this problem before.

Sorry, yeah it does. I have a remote control that can scroll through the songs too so I don't even need to use the head unit.

k, then i stick with behind the seats (easy) or in the arm rest container (convenient). glove box behind passenger seat isn't convenient or easy. BTW, if you take off the panelling, you should be able to get to the arm rest container by making only a small hole in the plastic bottom or side of the container.

All of my interior panels are currently sitting in my living room right now. So getting access to these places should be easy. I'll try out some of these and see what works.

Did you have to punch a hole in the bottom of the center console? My console is sitting in my kitchen at home, so I can't tell if there needs to be any modifications done.

yes, just a small enough hole to fit the docking wire.

AVIC Z1 with hook up in cubby. Close the door and it's all good.

Ah, i finally figured it out. The glove box has a removable panel on the top which is about an 1"x1.5". This should allow me to keep it locked up and not worry about it. I will post up some pics when I get it all installed this weekend.

OK, here are a couple pics from the install today. The pic of the cable going to the area behind the driver seat isn't that great, but you get the idea.
