ya thats a problem that I think 99% of Z owners go through. Ive used Meguires PlastX on mine and it works pretty good. Go get a bottle of that and wax it off. They will look as good as you can get without having them taken apart.

sanding and clearing???? You DONT need to do that! Look for a plastic polisher called "plastic X" or something similar at walmart, target, kragen, pepboys etc. It'll take out that yellow haze.

Is this a problem for all model years? Is this something I should try to prevent on my '07 or did they fix this?

You would only need to sand and then buff if you have actual scratches in your headlights. If its just haze, use a plastic polish like what was posted.

i had to buff it out really hard with the "plastic x" If u get most of it off, just get a clear film for your headlights to save u the trouble later on.

Ive used mothers chrome polish with super light wet sand and it makes them look nice.

Ive also tried the new PlastiX stuff and the first method works much better...

3si ftmfw!!! The forums there got all crazy with each vendor having their own section and they just kept adding on and on.

Anyways, what about small rock chips from daily driving, I don't suppose plastic x will remedy that, just kinda make it look better?

I just did it earlier actually...I was at the body shop today to get my body kit painted and the guy noticed how bad my headlights were. He said rub it with gritty (sparkly) toothpaste. Simple but it worked! They look amazing, my hazing was horrible.

You can get a polishing compound from just about any auto paint store. I use it on all the lights I have. Works like a charm!

PlastX took 99% of the crap off my lenses. For $6 a bottle and like 20min of your time, I would highly recommend giving it a shot.

I saw on maxima.org that someone used Brasso, a metal polish. I picked some up at walmart and used it on my I30, and it worked pretty good. I am going to do it again, though, b/c those headlights were really really bad.

I used a lamb wool pad @ 14,000rpm to remove mine.

jk

I did use, however, a lamb wool pad though, and VERY mild abrasive. Looks BRAND NEW !
