no access to center compartment?

 

Since the rest only lays on top. It is easily removed for access to the console.

 

In the perfect world Nissan would have raised the entire center console another 3 or 4 inches to provide both more storage and an armrest.

Given what we've got, though, i'll be happy to sacrifice quick access to the dinky storage for an armrest .....particularly one that provides another cup holder.
