Default Momo Shift **** Problem

Hey guys, I have to momo tomahawk shift **** with suede. Love the feel, however the vibration of the 350evo short shifter keeps undoing the 4 screws that hold the shift **** on the shifter. I have re-tightened the screws so many times that they are now stripped. Imagine being on the highway and having the shift **** come completely off.... scared me for a second. Anyhow heres my ?, what method to other shift ***** use to stay attached to the shifter? do they all use screws? If there are better shifters out there that will stay put, please recommend them

Momo are pretty low grade shift ***** especially if you picked up an ebay knockoff. Any mid to high end shiftknob will thread right on the shifter without using any of those cheap screws. Nismo, Greddy, ARC plus many more make great shift *****. it's all personal preference when it comes to what "you" like. I would go with the ARC Ti ball but it will set you back around $110 shipped seen here https://my350z.com/forum/questionable-posts/236185-arc-shift-knob.html

Wow, an OG. Dec '03 join date.

The majority of ***** are simply screwed/twisted on. No additional screws needed.

I second the greddy recommendation. Not that many people run them here, but their counterweighted shifter is a nice piece. At about 450g, its a good deal heavier than most shifters on the market.

dyno - got your email and replied too BTW - unfortunately as nice as some of the Momo ***** are (Sparco too), they are universal, so they use the setscrews to hold them to the shifter.

The ones mentioned will thread on and won't give you any issues. Only downside to the Greddy is that it gets HOT...but, otherwise, nicely weighted **** and very inexpensive

Yeah, couldn't find 7th....

Doesn't bother me or nor do I notice it, but I'd rather have a 6-speed sticker/emblem. The sticker for the weighted greddy is only for a 5-speed. I've seen a similar greddy **** with a 6-speed sticker so was wondering if it could be had separately.

Here is the **** I have.

i think i have the same ****, just make sure you screw all 3 in at equal lengths, or one side will have less than the other. good luck. Tighten them in real good.

You can buy the aluminum 6-speed shift pattern on ebay.

Thanks, but the sticker is cut so it sits flush and smooth with the rest of the ****. There's an indent/pocket for the sticker, so without the sticker, it doesn't feel very smooth in your palm.

I'm fine with it as is. Probably just keep it like that until I switch *****.

I ordered the Greddy shift **** off e bay a while ago just have to look through all the bazillion Greddy shift ***** for the Z to find the right one.

I have the other (conical I guess) Greddy shift **** and just double checked with the seller before buying, got mine with a 6 speed pattern even though Nissan Greddy shifters are supposed to only come in 5 speed shift patterns, save for the skyline.
