hey guys,
i'm talking about the console box where the navigation system goes (but i don't have nav). The button to open this compartment is all scratched up and looks terrible. i want to remove it to paint it but I can't seem to get at it... i tried removing some screws but it didn't come out and i didn't want to break anything.
can i remove this button without removing the entire box?

 

good question, you should be able to take off just the cover.

 

If you are talking about the cubby hole on top of the radio, you have to pull the whole thing off.

I just painted my cubby last week and there were four screws that holds the cubby to the center console from the back.

 

if it is the electric one; no. you will have to remove the whole unit. which means you will have to take out the center console...
If it is the regular one.... Im not sure you can take it out without taking the whole console out...
