Default rear hatch new support shocks problem

I recently purchased the new rear hatch, o i dont know what you call them, the shocks that make the hatch open easier because I have a spoiler, and I bought from performance nissan...anyways, my problem is that I can not get the ball joint apart from the last shocks, the part that screws into the hatch directly. They are a screw on one end and a ball on the other end. Also I think i have bent one of them trying to get it apart, so what i really need to know is how to find that part so I can purchase just 2 new ones so I dont even have to deal with separating them, or how you all got them separated, maybe i can salvage it if i can get it apart...thanks guys

You'll probably have to use a Dremel to cut the current strut off.
I bought my struts from jtabraham and got new brackets with them. You might PM him to find the Nissan part number.

The stock struts are NOT removable from the mounting hardware because they use an internal retaining clip. You'll either need to carefully cut the old struts off, or purchase new mounting brackets to use with your new struts.

OR...you could buy my heavy duty struts from Z1 performance that already come with mounting brackets for a fraction of the cost
