WooooOOooo ALGOR.... which tooling pacakge are you using?
perhaps the FLUID FLOW ANALYSIS?

Right on!

hey. you got my support if you can get it all modeled...
what is your main objective? do you want high speed stability at 100+mph or like you said, adequate downforce at 60mph.

both designs are quite different, and from the looks of your front dive plate angles. you're looking at high frontal downforce and drag for short course running.

as for your 3k CF thickness, which weight? 5 oz? wow. thats pretty good!

whats' your engineering background?

if you need help. let me know

im using solidworks for my rear diffuser designs....

You have my support man.... I would like to see your final product! I am quite into the look of the car... and here is my opinions on your photoshop design at this stage...

I think most of the people woud like to see a wide body "350z" instead of changing our 350 identity to a look-alike to other cars... It will be great to keep the front end design as close to the 350z as possible... don't need to design a really sharpe front end because it will either look like a celica (which I hate the most) and the ferrari enzo.... I have no design background, so I cannot say anything about how well the downforce will be or anything... that's just my opinions on the wide body z... just don't make it looks like a BUG... ( I reckon the celica, ferrari enzo and all the veilside wide body cars all look like bugs..)

cheers and all the best mate!

I'm sorry, what's with stupid people making stupid posts. You see this on every car forum, dumb people trying to gauge interest for a product, except they have nothing to show.... Go sell your crap on ebay

Chebosto: The package I'm using is the finite element analysis with the fluid flow analysis module for ways to reduce drag. It's amazing what this software can do and I often spend nights playing with designs on air intake tubes. I'm trying to optimize downforce at 60mph which are typical speeds on tight turns without the addition of too much drag. I'm sure the final model will be stable because I perform the flutter analysis as well. It will likely take me 1/2 year to model everything if I work on it everyday. You are very good in studying my preliminary drawings and it is amazing how well you predict what I'm trying to do in terms of performance level. Yes I go with 5oz, because anything heavier it would be hard to fit in the tight corners. I have absolutely no engineering back ground. Most of my design methods comes from actual race cars (so therefore saves me time on design). I was an electrical engineering student at one time in my life, but that is not even worth mentioning because I learned nothing of use during that point in my life. I will surely console to you for any advice because as I said earlier "you know your stuff". Thanks!

Z350Lover: You got a good point and that's why I'm glad I showed these drawings to get opinions from people here, before I starting making the prototype. I'll try and post some drawings of the earlier stage implementation which resembled much of the original Z lines. Thank you for the encouragement.

junglist350Z: point taken, I'll scan my starting point to see how much I missed the point from there.

1200tt: Like I said I'm sorry for whinning, I just hate getting compared to a child. My first product is the NSX, here is a picture of one. Everything on the car was made from scratch stock panels, except for the middle piece of the rear diffuser (which is from taitec.) I plan on making my own when I get time. No need to apologize, it's your opinion and I shouldn't even get upset because it's what you feel and I respect that. Going through mood swings... ignore me when I get whinny. I wish one day to take some drawing lessons, just don't have the time to do so for the next 2 years.

Mike Wazowski: With the 350Z, I'm not too impressed so far with what the JGTC 350z look so far (in terms of agressive design. That was why I was going through a different route and trying to come up with something wild. I'm going to be super busy the next few days and I only had 1 hour of free time today to check my email and sorts. I'll try and scan the pics of some other 350Z sketches.

Z350Lover: Yes the NSX was intended to be a replica of the JGTC. So is my Supra project. I really would like to do the DTM CLK, but I don't have the money to purchase one now, as I'm kind of stuck with a lot of cars now and need to do some spring cleaning.

No one will buy unless you actually make a prototype first so people can see it. They will NOT spend 12 on what their kit might sorta look like.
