Well this is just as I feared, the dealer did not do it right the first time and I may have to bring it back.
I took the car in to get the recall done on my slave cylinder and when I get it back the shifter is all misaligned. Normally one should be able to move the shifter all the way to the right and move it straight up to engage 5th, however now I have to move it right then slightly back towards the center to engage 5th. 6th seems to be in the right place though.
My question is can the shifter plate be adjusted without dropping the whole tranny, since I would rather do my own work? If so, how?
Thanks for the help.

I had this same issue after my recall. first of all, how far right does it go when shifting to 5th? is it
1) all the way into the reverse slot without pushing down like normal?
2) or is it just a little off like a 1/4" which causes the shifter to get caught and not go smoothly into 5th?
If it's the first issue, then they probably will need to drop your tranny again.
If it's the second issue, then it's easily fixed by popping off the shift **** cover, loosening the shift plate beneath it from inside the car and re-tightening it. I had both happen to me and spent the entire day at the dealership. The second issue seemed relatively easy to fix although i couldn't see exactly what the technician was doing. After he fixed it he told me all he had to do was re-tighten the screws back to where they originally where based on the marks on the plate (apparently, the plate was only like a mm or two off but it was enough to make the stick catch like that).I never saw what the plate looks like or how far beneath the shifter cover it is. all i know is that he did it from inside the car with only a drill.

Yes, you can adjust it from the cabin of the car. Here's an old post of mine explaining the procedure, it's really easy.

I had to do this after dropping my tranny because it was really hard to get into 1st and 2nd. Now it's smooth as buttah
This is most likely your problem.

Big thanks for the tip!! Just got my Z back from the shop from a clutch install, and 5th was hard to find -- seemed to be in just a little bit from where it used to be. 10 min fix -- works great, again.
