Yeah, it worked out ok. But the fact of the matter is that I shouldn't have had to go through all this to get the lights.

^^^ That is yet to be seen. Still haven't gotten them yet. It's cutting it close as I'm leaving for ZDAYZ in 2.5 hours.

Damn, i had my headlights done by Dan a couple months ago and he did a great job, very quickly. But yeah, if I was an exception than this guy shouldn't be in business.

 

So what happened to the guy? What as his excuse?

No actually overall he has a good rep well until now. One of the few times i've seen a complaint agaisnt him and he messed up majorly from the sounds of it.

 

He didn't refund me, all I got were brand new lights. At this point I'm just happy to have lights back. Completely ruining his rep and Z business on the forum is good enough for me.

 

That sucks *** but atleast you got some new lights back.

 

Sucks you had to deal with all that crap but from the sounds of things he may have just sent you someone else's headlights. lol .What a loser. You exhaust looked awesome at ZDayz by the way dude.

 

Sorry to hear about your situation..
I live really close to Dan and had a chance to take my Z there personally to have him work on my lights, I also got a chance to talk to him on a few separate occasions besides my visit to get the head lights of the Z done..
Dan is a really cool guy if you get a chance to meet him and his business of working on people's head lights is a part time business of his.. he does most of his work on the weekends.. cause he has a stress filled job Mon. - Fri. and recently got married.. so I can imagine he has even less free time than usual lately..
If he did take that long to return your lights.. I agree with you there should of been more communication but by judging Dan through my experiences I'm sure it wasn't from pure negligence..
Based on my experiences with Dan I would tell people that.. Dan knows what he's doing and he does great work.. His prices aren't the cheapest but he tells you upfront and you get what you pay for.. I was really happy how mine turned out and I would def. go back to him..
Once again sorry your situation was different than mine.. When and if you finally do get your lights done post some pics cause we are anxious to see them..

surprising that you say his prices arent the cheapest but then you say you get what you pay for.....derek originally sent his headlights back to him due to poor quality of the paint. So he got less than what he paid for, not to menion VERY LATE!

 

This is completely irrelevant. The Pope, himself, can be modding my headlights. I STILL paid money for the job to be done and in a timely fashion . Nothing else matters when you're the customer

 

I got a lengthy email from him the other day apologizing that the lights were so late and that he had a family emergency. He also said he is going to have a body shop do the painting of the lights now.

But all that means jack **** to me, sorry if that sounds cold hearted, but in the end, I'm out of the money I spent in the first place getting the lights painted, shipping 3 ways, 2 missed car shows, and 1 hotel room reservation missed.

250(paint)+135(shipping)+100(car shows)+95(hotel room)= $580.00 that I'm out because of him.

 

He'll be back..........just under a different name.....if he's scammed once, he'll scam again.

 

I agree just keep a eye out for the next person offering to mod lights. Hopefully he will move on to teh honda forums or something
