Looks exactly like a Mastergrade copy. I wouldn't trust it.

awsome thanks guys. what do u recommend the siebon?or vis?I'm a bodyman/ painter. I've put ALOT of VIS hoods on cars and MOST of the time the fitment is pretty nice. keyword is most though. I've never used a siebon product before but everyone that has em usually brags em up all day on their fitment

I have it. I bought it from them back when they advertised them as Mastergrade so I didn't know the difference. But it worked out because I filed a dispute with paypal and only ended up paying about $200 shipped for it (we cut a deal, lol).

It is not vacuum bagged carbon or whatever Mastergrade does. But it fits good, and it is light as f*ck.

sorry for the bad pic, I dont have any good pics of the car since it's overhaul.

BTW, they are actually CWings brand hatches. And they are one sided carbon.

KCG suck donkey nutz. They purchased all of mastergrade grade crappy molds and they hand lay them...hence why they are so cheap. Get the authentic MG hatch, they are the only ones that guarantee your parts wont fade.

Yes, you can use the authentic mastergrade hatch with your rear window or we offer an optional lexan rear window kit.

There is a difference. The "replica" hatch is made in a completley different manner then the original and the original is the only one with a warranty. You can buy the replica for $500+, pay $150 to get it re-cleared, and HOPE that fitment is atleast decent.

Feel free to try out KCG or the other on Ebay, but I can tell you when those companies were improperly labeling parts as "Mastergrade" we were getting atleast 1 call a week from angry Ebay customers asking how to return their "Mastergrade" part that doesn't fit. I had to be the barer of bad news and tell them what they bought was a fake.

Yeah, I am with Jim, KCG is shady. They had no reason to lie and say the parts were Mastergrade when the label on them clearly said Cwings... Their rep tried to argue with me, saying that they had bought the original molds from Mastergrade and blah blah blah, but it was mostly BS.

Regardless, it worked out for me, cause I ended up with a carbon hatch for $200, that actually fit pretty good and is sure as hell a lot lighter then the stock hatch. I'm sure the real Mastergrade hatch is a superior product, but my car is a stripped out track car and not a show queen so I dont care.

Bottomline though, I would not recommend buying from KCG.

maybe mastergrade shouldn't have sold their molds.

it's kinda funny though, that you're using the the same logic as companies in japan who have to deal with replica's of their own products. ironic even.

That was the old owner and those mold didn't fit right, hence why they were sold. They were intended to be fixed, but guaging from the complaints we received they didn't fix any of them. It's actually pretty common to sell old molds.

Mastergrade is already working on new parts, so this hatch will be retired shortly.

meh, w/e. Just find it ironic that someone who makes replica parts complain about their parts being replicated.

Alot of S2k owners look down upon on MasterGrade products. My cousin had a hood installed and the fitment was terrible

^I've heard the same about the Old Mastergrade.
I think the Zs and Gs are happy with the fitment and quality though with the new guys over at MG.

Correct, the old owner actually outsourced ALOT of the s2000 parts to mexico where they were hand laid and not vacuum bagged, which made parts be "hit or miss" like many of the other hand laid companies out there.

The new owner has EVERYTHING being made inhouse in Socal. Istan can vouch for this as he has been there numerous times.

I wasn't complaining but making sure everyone knows those parts are not authentic Mastergrade and therefor do not come with their warranty and certainly not the same high quality.
