Default Disabling factory remote horn chirp?

Hi everyone,
I have an '07 350zr and I wanted to know if there is a way to disable the chirping (horn) on the factory alarm/remote control when locking the door? I tried doing a search, but unable to find info. on it. Thanks in advanced.

Hold both your "lock" and "unlock" button at the same time until you see the hazards flash to disable your horns when locking your car. You can also enable your horns using the same method.

Thumbs up

Thanks 3hree5ive0ero. I'll give it a try. Just can't seem to find it in the manual.

You say chirp? Like half-volume horn honk? Mine is a full volume... Can you change it?

Oh my god that is so awesome, lol...I just did it, I'm excited, lol.

I really didn't think the Z had a horn beep for locking, even my Escort had it, so I was all bummed, lol.

I dunno about you guys, but that horn chirp is irritating. I put mine on silent mode using that "holding the lock/unlock buttons" at the same time.

i could have sworn it was in the manual too...but had a little trouble finding it. just found it in the pre-driving checks and adjustments / how to use remote keyless entry system

FYI

In hazard indicator and horn mode, when the LOCK button is pushed, the hazard indicator flashes twice and the horn chirps once. When the UNLOCK button is pushed, the hazard indicator flashes once.
If hazard indicator and horn mode is not necessary, you can switch to hazard indicator only mode by following the switching procedure.
In hazard indicator only mode, when the LOCK button is pushed, the hazard indicator flashes twice. When the UNLOCK button is pushed, neither the hazard indicator nor the horn operates.
(Switching procedure)
Push the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the keyfob simultaneously for more than 2 seconds to switch from one mode to the other.

Wow great info. I don't like the horn chirp at all either. I wish it was a calm chirp like the BMW or something. I always thought the standard alarm code was 2 blink = unlock, and 1 blink = lock. I think it should blink when you unlock and blink twice when you lock.

On the silent mode, my lights don't blink when you unlock.

Yeah, it will only flash when you lock it up, but the interior light will illuminate upon unlocking.

I love this site - I've been looking for this info for over a month now!

I have a 2006 too, and mine is the same. Only 2 settings:

A) Double flash and no horn when lock, no flash when unlock (but interior light comes on)
B) Double flash and beep when lock, single flash when unlock

I wish the 2006 had the third option. I like the flash when unlock to find in parking lots, but wish I could get it without the beep. Oh well, I can deal with the beep if I can at least get the flash on unlock.
