"In case of any seafaring emergency, i.e. rough seas, hull leak, engine failure, mutiny or shark attack; throw child overboard for secure anchor."

Its for when you caulk the wagon and try to float the across the river, because the damn ferry charges too much, and Jebediah is nursing a broken arm.

This is very good advice since sharks always go for the babys first due to the softer more tender meat.
