Default Abnormal Seat Wear

I ordered my Z last year and picked it up in September. In less than 500 miles the leather seat started wearing abnormally. Now my car is at less than 4,000 miles and is doing the same thing again. It appears to be the "*** rub" factor when I sit down. This is the second seat Nissan is reaplcing for this reason.

Has anyone seen this? Any way to protect from it? (My *** isn't that big.) A known defect?

I don't have leather seats, but have had some in previous vehicles. That looks like an abrasion from either sitting down in the car or getting up out of your car. I haven't heard of any defects with the seats, though that definitely doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Do you wear any type of clothing that could promote abrasion to the seats, i.e. studded belt buckles, maybe stiff/rough denim? I don't know what the current fashions are in Japan, but possibly your clothing or style of entry or exit of the car is to blame? Does your passenger seat look the same?

By the way, I do agree that even if it is technically caused by your clothing or style of entry or exit that with only 4,000 miles (or 500 miles the first time) that it shouldn't be wearing THAT quickly.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

I have cloth seats but the dealer had to replace my driver seat bottom at 12,000 because of seat where, maybe they will do the same for you
