Thanks

No, polyurethane bumpers I'd say are much better than FRP. That said, FRP is still better than standard fiberglass, but the parts have many of the same problems as fiberglass like being prone to cracking, more fitment issues, and surface problems.

I'd take a polyurethane bumper over an FRP bumper any day of the week, unfortunately polyurethane bumpers are harder to come by and aren't available in the majority of body kit styles.

Just my .02.

Does FRP allow for any flex?

Polyurethane is garbage. what you want is polypropylene <- that is what the OEM bumpers are. Polyurethane is thick, heavy, rubberband type material

FRP can be very durable depending on manufacturer. FRP is too commonly used. There are HUGE variances in what is called FRP and as a result, cheap knock off companies producing FRP bumpers drag down reputable and quality FRP manufacturers.

Are you looking at a particular kit/bumper?

The knockoffs I have seen of the V2 were very stiff. They basically have no flex to them. Shine's replica allows for flex and would be the only knock off I would consider

I've had my FRP bumper for about two months or so. I hit a stick on the highway and it took a notch out of my front lip the diameter of the stick, I've had a few chips too, but nothing too bad.

I would suggest getting the rubberized coating that protects the paint from chips, it might also decrease the chances of misc things like sticks and stuff from doing damage
