I am in a similar situation with my v2 cf bumper. I am debating on whether or not to fix it. All you have to do it get some resin and sand it. You can probably re enforce it from the back side.

lol buffing will not build up polyurethane or make cracks go away.
buffing is for scratches or restoring paint.
