Any Word On Blue Needles Yet?

 

I don't think blue needles are going to happen anytime soon, unless you can find some replacement needles that are clear (or blue).

As for the needles, I assume the bottom side of our speedo needles are painted the red or orange color?

If this is so...

Rub the bottom side with rubbing alcohol until all the paint comes off and is clear.
Tape off all edges except the bottom.
Spray one or two layers of transparent blue paint, I used Anodizit blue.
After the blue dries, spray one layer of any solid color paint that won't let light shine through. This makes it so the light will keep the needle lit up rather than just looking transparent.
Wait for it to dry, then reinstall.



This is the process I used for my Celica. The gauges and needles used to be orange like the Z's. Some LED's and painting later... this is how they came out.

Nvm, upon further inspection, the Z needles are different.

I'm wondering if the price included the gauge faces and conversion for radio, navi, door controls and center console rocker switches but then I noticed it's an old post.

 

If you look at the page, it will show you what is included..
Custom gauge face is included and they are custom made to each order, so you have the option to change the design as you like like adding custom logo, different fonts, color combination..

Package deal includes custom gauge face, full LED conversion which shown on the detail..
Also includes that is not listed is rocker switch on center console..

Radio/Navi is extra...

Thanks. I've seen your site. I was wondering about the OP. I've already done my own conversion and two others though I let them handle their own gauge faces.

 

The concentrated red under the needle is from the picture quality?

There is like a blotch of RED light emitting from under the needle...

Edit - Btw, the pics of the guage face clusters don't load.

 

If you get background with like white, silver or other lighter shade, there will be glow on the base of the needle..
Since lighter shade surface reflects lights from the needle LED...
If you get black surface, there will be very little glow...

 

I personally travel to NYC time to time to offer local installation
There are only handful of people that can do this installation properly...
