Default HR owners I need some help

I want an 07 or 08 Z really bad. I love the HR, and the aftermarket parts availability is getting stronger and stronger. The only thing holding me back is the ridiculous cancer lump on the hood. I think the 03-06 hood is one of the sexiest designed hoods ever, and some of the CF replacement hoods for it look awesome as well.

I've done some searching and found a couple different hood replacement options for the 07-08, but none of them look "great" Just wondering if maybe some of you could post up pics of your upgraded hoods, to give me ideas for options.

Thanks.

Well if you dont like the hump the aftermarket world isnt going to help since they all must keep the hump in order to clear the engine. Honestly I was like you, but the hood has grown on me to the point that I think it belongs there. Just like on the 280z.

most of us like the "cancer" hump, reminiscent of some of the older Z's. I believe most of the aftermarket hoods still incorporate the hump as well but goodluck. The HR is worth it and the hood shouldn't hold you back IMO

i love cancer! i mean in the form of a hood tumor on the 07-08 Z. IMO i think it looks way more aggresive than the 03-06 hood. and the 03 is the car i fell in love with!

yeah. im aware of the reason why it is designed that way, i was just curious if there was a more subtle way of clearing the engine than that huge lump. i've seriously tried to look past it, and just cant! certain angles its not so bad, but from other angles it's awful!

I love my "bulge"! much better than the 'slits' on the older Z and all of Nissans other cars, sets us 07-08 people apart.

yeah. i saw that hood. it is VERY aggressive. im thinking my best option is the carbon fiber OEM replacement. I think with the contrast of the PPW and carbon fiber it will make the bulge less noticeable. anyone with this set up???

Honestly OP, you will start to come around. I was going to buy an 06 just so I could have the bi xenon headlights and so on. But after seeing the hood in person, I liked it. Trust me, you will like the HR motor. 7.5k redline is pretty fun on the highway on ramps.

My friend, if this "cancer lump" is the only thing holding you back from buying the 07-08 Z, maybe you should re-evaluate why you're buying this car in the first place. It honestly looks far more agressive in my opinion. Anyways, here are some pictures of my old 07 PPW.

I like the way it looks, honestly when I bought my 08 its what drew my attention. It looks like a cowl induction hood. Also since the 07-08 has more ***** it shows it with a bigger bulge in the pants!!!
