Default Look what happened to my hood last night...need help with choosing a new hood. CF?

Also posted this is the Exterior & Interior forum, but thought I might get more responses here.

So last night my brother had some friends over when I came home. of course the drive way was full, so I parked on the street in front of my house, behind one of his friends trucks. which is lifted with big tires. wake up this morning and go out and see this. Figured he probably backed up late last night, and since his truck is so lifted he didnt even feel it, plus my car is black with limo tinted windows, be pretty hard to see at midnight. Luckly my brother friend is super chill and has no problems giving me the money, or his insurance, which ever is easier.

so anotherwards Im in the market for a new hood. I figure I got a few options.

1. Get a brand new 03-06 hood and have it painted and matched perfectly by my local body shop.

2. Get a 07-08 hood and have that put on there

3. Or get a aftermarket CF hood.

I want the cars clean look to remain. Not looking for it to look heavily modded. Besides the HKS exhaust and the tinted windows my car looks stock. But I dont mind the car looking modded as long as it still looks really clean. Is there any CF hood out there for the 350z's that would fit this discription? Whats the most popular hood out there for the 350z? I remember there used to be a gallery on this forum for hoods, but it seems to be gone now. Can some people help me out with some pics?

Is it dented at all? Looks like a quick easy fix for the local body shop. If you go CF hood you gota make sure its got a sturdy hook to latch or else you will have to use hood pins, which may look too ricey for your taste.

I'm glad he's cool about it. That makes a seriously rage-inducing situation nothing to stress about.

You can get CF hoods that match the lines of the stock hoods. If you're replacing it anyway, you might as well go that route and get some weight savings out of it.

No its dented, the dent isnt really bad, just pushed in. But more importantly its cracked with a little buckle right under the three main gouges, its about 5-6inches long. You can kinda see it in the close up picture.

Yea I'm also glad he was really cool about it, I was so stressed out when I saw it this morning. but I'm fine now.

Yea I mainly just dont want it to look ricey. Does anyone know any CF hoods in piticular? Like which models? I really dont know whats out there for hoods for ours cars.

edit: I'm lookin at the siebon vsII hood now, does anyone have any good pics of this hood on there car? Also the VSII will clear my 5/16 spacer right? I still have the strut bar on.

Default Ouch...

take a look at some of the Seibon hoods. If you want to keep the OEM look, go that route in CF.

Good luck.

I would prolly either get 03-06 and have it painted or just get 07-08. Basically I'd stay away from CF just because well..thats not my thing ha. But if you're into racing and wanting your car to look like a race car even though you don't race...then go for it

Its just funny theres this group of kids that hang out at a local taco bell around here and all their neons etc have body kits and theres a couple of them with CF hoods on blue cars etc. In my opinion I think its a bit tacky. Unless you get it painted.

well my Z is black. So CF isnt gonna stand out as much as it will on blue. Im not doing it to look like a race car, doing it cause I will have left over money from what he gives me, or his insurance gives me. A CF ends up being a lot cheaper, cause you dont have to paint the whole front end of the car. If my Z was daytona blue, I probably wouldnt go CF cause it stand out more, and make me look more like a "ricer." the VSII looks really clean imo though...just want to see more pics of it on Z's installed.

Why do you have a Honda license plate frame???
NVM been answered...

Best of luck! Stick with a stock OEM hood if you want to retain the stockness.

if you want the clean look you may think bout going with the bump hood on the 07-08 i think it really sets off the front making it look more aggressive IMO of course....but i have a bias opinion having an 07

this is what I was thinking about doing when I get a CF hood. The Seibon TS hood looks pretty nice, more M3 style vents.

+1 on the Seibon. Your bumper looks scratched as well, no?
