So those that did it themselves...what did you do to prevent rust? Also what dremel bits did you use and how did you keep the lines straight? God knows I wanna do this and I'm not worried about another DIY mod but this one may be a lil out of my leauge. I like cheap but tasteful mods and I've done blacked out headlight housings, windshield wiper (rear delete), installed coilovers by myself, spacers w/ longer studs by myself, cut fender lips by myself, etc....so like I said...I know I could do it, just would appreciate a tool list and an encouragement to grow some brass *****.
Thanks, however I've had both templates (the one w/ the single cutout) and the one you've posted for awhile now. Just wishing there was a how to or someone would chime in w/ what to use for proper tools and how to paint/prevent rust after the fact aside from spraying the whole hood.
i told my body shop to paint the hole inside.i think they kinda touch it up.ill post pic of the hood.im getting my car back 2morrow.btw dont use a electric dremel you wont finish the hood right away.i have the instruction on my laptop but not sure if i deleted it.
No offense but i would have just bought a carbon fiber hood for that amount of coin? your car looks sweet though.,
It wouldn't have been any lighter and I've never been a fan of carbon on black really either. Thanks for the props though.

Once again, thanks for the Ings kit. It's been great to me and my body man said the sides were the best-fitting he had done on a Z. Props for an awesome vendor!
