Default Bottom Splash Shield

Hi all,

I went to the dealer today to get my 7500 miles oil change (2006 model). The dealer informed me that my bottom splash shield is missing. I bought the car used, the previous owner bought it in january 2007. So I still have the warrenty. They said it would cost me $165.40 to replace.............would I be able to tell them to replace it under warrenty or no? Because its not broken or anything its just missing.

Also would it do any harm to the Z if it does not get replace?

Thanks in advance.

I bought one from the dealer for $65 and put it on myself while doing an oil change. They will even sell you the bolts that you need and the one plastic clip.

Save the $100 install.

I think it's worth having.

Uh... think about this a bit. If you went to the dealer and let's say your hood was missing, or your passenger seat was missing, or your spare tire was missing, you think they would replace it under warranty?

you dont need it, but at the same time if you were driving over rough terrain or some random objects in the road it would not hurt to have it

I went to the dealer and had about a half a tank of gas missing, needless to say, I turned it in under warranty.

its a splash shield, its not meant to protect your car from rough terrain or objects in the road... and the dealer won't replace missing parts. If you DD your car, go ahead and get one, but if its just a weekend/show car don't worry about it
