Default Rear strut brace cover removal

I bought my Z in August and ever since I got it, this thing has been bugging me. The previous owner must helped some one move with his Z or something because the rear strut brace cover (the thing in the trunk with the big "Z" on it) is pretty messed up. I was thinking about trying to take it off and clean it up and repaint it but I have no idea how to take it off. Does anyone know how to do this or could anyone help point me in the right direction to figuring it out?

I already searched for it and I couldn't find anything, but it's possible that I'm really bad at searching. Forgive me if I'm not using correct terminology but I think "rear strut brace cover" is right.

Thanks.

I think you pretty much have to remove all the plastic in the trunk to remove it.

So is there a trick to doing that or do I just start prying pieces off?

no big deal....start with removing those 2 plastic pieces on the top (right and left with the yellow arrow) by grabing the front of the piece (where the yellow arrow signs) and pull gentle upwards. same on the other side. now start to pull the "side walls" off (the part with the blue arrows) by pulling it gentle towards the rear of the car (i guess there are 4 clips or so).the same thing with the other side. you should have some space to remove the strut cover. but be careful it also has 2 or 3 clips on the downside of it.it´s not a hard job. you didn´t even need tools.but be very careful with the plastic parts the crack pretty fast....same for the clips.have fun and good luck.....oh and that´s my car and what i did to the cover shaved it and painted it flat black...i think looks way better then stock
