Default Anyone ever removed a 3M Clear Bra...?

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to this, but it needs to come off. Due to the heat here in Texas, it has started to crack everywhere and looks very bad. Does anyone know of the proper procedure in removing this film? It looks like a hell of a lot of goo gone will need to be used, especially since the previous owner put the film over the headlights and those are peeling the worst. Thanks, any help would be needed....

hi
are you sure that is a 3m protection film ? the 3m film is garanteed up to 10 years without "yellowing" and cracking. the easiest way to take care of it is to wax it just like your car. before removing, make sure the film is really hot !
here's the link to show you how ! hope i helped you !

you're welcome ! but you have to know that when you remove this film, the paint under was protected from UVs and chips, so you'll probably see where this film was applied, a great compound on the rest of the hood and you'll have a brand new car !
sorry for my bad english, im a frenchi !

No problem, I appreciate your help very much. I have pulled back a small section and it looks like there is no line. I may have luck. I do have this compound called "Blue Magic" that works some wonders on cars. If that doesn't work, I know some people that could send me in the right direction. I do have another Chrome Silver hood in my garage, so if it matches exactly, I will just replace this one.....ha ha.

Tell us how this turns out. I've always been curious as to what the long term issues with clear bras might be.

I will do a write up on it with pics. I'm removing it b/c a bird took a $hit on my hood and thankfully the clear bra took the brunt of it and protected my hood. The bra now has a ton of cracks and needs to be removed.

Heat up the film with a heat gun and peel away. As far as the glue, just buy a can of 3M Adheasive Remover and spray on the area where you removed the film and wipe off with a microfiber towel. Works wonders, had to remove my clear bra a few months ago. You can get the 3M adheasive remover at your local parts store.
