I thought about that too, but I like the clean look of just the sub. I also want to avoid placing anything on my factory trunk mat. It's flawless. I want to avoid any stains. It's a "show" thing...

Just buy a truck and a trailer and you can take your vacuum cleaner with you! I'm not talking about your significant other, either

I got the truck, but the engine is too small. I bought a midsized Frontier with a 4 banger. I was thinking about gas conservation at the time. I wish I would've bought the 6 cyl now...

I was just curious, but I looked up my truck's towing capacity. It's 3500 lbs. The car weighs 3247 lbs. That would cut it kind of close with the weight of a trailer factored in. The car is probably a 100 lbs lighter though, on account of the lighter mods that replaced the OEM parts...

I think it looks ugly. Ever heard of a net? But if you like it that's all that matters

it will probably be ok just keep as much tongue weight off it as you can. Keep the speed down for sure. That little 4 cyl will hate you haha.

Congrats on the win at the show bro. As for towing your z w/ the frontier, I doubt it's gonna work. Remember, it's not just about the gross weight trailer rating; take into consideration brake fade while towing, engine over heating, stress on frame and decreased control since adding weight to rear will cause front of car to raise up front end resulting in decreased contact patch. More than likely if you're towing your car it's gonna be to an out of town show and I just don't think it's safe to travel >100 miles with your frontier towing the Z.

You're probably right. The max towing weight of my truck vs. what I'm towing would be cutting it close and not to mention the distance, I'd be asking for trouble.

On a different note. I decided to take some of you guy's advice here. I removed the glue that cracked, drilled some holes in the base and top portion, then treaded zip-ties through the holes. It holds together much better now. I spoke to my neighbor about painting options. He told me to use a latex based paint for this plastic contraption. I'm going to pick up some after work today and paint it either silver or black...

I picked up some paint last night at Home Depot. Primer, made for plastics. Then picked up a glossy top coat paint to match my car. I applied the white primer last night. I'll apply the top coat tonight. I hope it comes out even. It's really hard applying spray paint without it dripping.

Here's some pics I snapped this morning...

I finally got around to painting the thing. I started off with a primer made for plastic, then followed up with 3 coats of metallic siver top coat to match the car. After it dried for a few days, I placed round velcro patches on the legs. It is nice and snug in the trunk now.

What do yall think? Better now?

Yeah, this makes sense...

Use a net to hold all your stuff down... on top of the subwoofer...

Looks ugly as hell Val. But functional. Question, what kind of box did you build in the spare area? I got ahead of myself and already cut the corrugated plastic part, but I haven't had time to come up with a nice box design to sit flush in there.

Exactly what I was thinking, but just didn't bother to say it...

Haha, I know. Functionality is what my goal was. Just to help get my cleaning gear from point A to point B. Nothing else.
