FRONT REFLECTOR

So where did you get the led strip from and do they have a built in resistor?

Are two sets of lights really necessary? It makes that rear end stick out like a sore thumb. Possibly a little too bright.

Where south? Are you in the DFW metro? Wanted to see em in person.. Well I guess probably not DFW since DFW is more north.

Your license plate circuit board doesn't have any thermal management on it...
Flux LED tends to run at higher temperature, especially white color..

I hope your not telling me how to run them......they are low current and low voltage driven, nothing fancy about that...unlike the luxeon III or rebel LEDs that require sophisticated drivers and heatsinks. They are being driven with PWM drivers and voltage regulators...so no temperature issues, they dont generate heat. So please dont try to put down my project.

I'm not trying to put your project... just want to help you design better..
Based on your circuit board where you soldered on the all the flux LED..
There were no form of heat management, IF you were to run them at Typical current... but since you ran them at lower current, it's OK..
You might not realize that not juse Luxeon LED uses heatsink...
Many of the flux type of LED uses form of heatsink by using bigger circuit traces...
I've worked with many LED, so just want share some of my thoughts... don't take it personally...

i know from where your coming from and thanks for your input, but heat is my least of my concerns. Ive worked with LEDs since i was 13, absolutely love solid state technology. This particular LED is a cree P4 series rated at 7Lumens at 30mA,my favorite for color white. Ive overdriven these at 100mA for about 8 weeks already at constant day and night at my garage..and till now no burn outs, unlike the cheap LEDs from ebay that dont last a week, even if you run them below there specs. Now when you work with something like.. Rebel....MC-E...XP-C LEDs, heat problems ...superflux

I'm not sure how you were running the 100mA for 8 weeks that was rated at 100mA max...
At the max rating, it can only be done with flashing, not constantly ON..

Yea.. I've played with the rebel, that tiny sucker get's HOT.

yeah they exceeded all my expectations. The rebel..oh yeah when i first played with them, they freaking melt my solder and burn out shortly afterwards..gets incredibly hot. i try to avoid using them, sinces its just tooo much hassel to make em working properly, not worth it! I got a bunch of luxeons III that i wanna light up my 250G aquarium with, but havent found good cheap drivers....know any 750mA drivers?
