Fitting Recaro Seats Question
Just ordered a pair of Recaro SR seats for my DB Track which is fitted with the leather seats equipted with side air bags. Does anyone have the schematic for fitting the new seats in order to keep the the side air curtains functioning and prevent any CEL's.
Thanks in advance

you are talking about two different things.... the curtain airbags are in the headliner, above the window. They don't care if you have seats in the car or not.
The side impact bags in the seat are attached to the OEM seat and will cause the airbag light to come on if you remove the seats and start the car.
You have to make the car think the airbag is still there by applying the same resistance as the airbag with some sort of bypass or connector. In my Audi with Sparco seats I used a resistor made by Sensible Solutions to apply that resistance. You will have to find out what resistance the OEM side airbags apply so that you (or Sensible Solutions) can make the bypass.
You can find Sensible Solutions at www.airbagonoff.com
Hope that helps.

Thanks, Yeh I know they are different but I thought they where on the same airbag trigger circuit ie: SRS and not the front airbag system. My question was what is the required resistor value and to what connections is it wired to, I was not very clear in my post sorry.
Thanks

Yep... as long as you know the resistance from the seat, I think you are in good shape. Maybe some kind of ohm-meter or volt-meter on the wiring that runs to the seat airbag would give you that information.
I read a post elsewhere that someone has installed the Sensible Solutions air bag on/off switch in their Z, so I'd be willing to bet that Sensible Solutions may already know the resistance of the seat airbag.
Since you are "down under" you may have a tough time getting in touch with them. I'll call them today (Tuesday in Houston) and post what I find ot from them.

OK... I spoke with Margaret at Sensible Solutions. They are making a side airbag disconnect kit for the 350Z. They have sold a few of them already... seems there's a demand for this thing.
The kit is for both seats. The kit is US$40.00 plus shipping. Sensible Solutions uses UPS Worlwide shipping and should have no trouble getting the kit to you.
You can contact them via their website www.airbagonoff.com
Hope that helps!
