JPizzle, the conversion was $2500 parts/labor/tax out the door. And that was BEFORE doing the custom panels! Yippee!

thackattk, looking at your pic, your doors actually go slightly higher than mine did before the new panels. That's my fault though, cuz I set the motion restrictor to be as tight as possible. That way, when the doors rise, they don't form a V-shape. BTW, love those rims!

Oh, and the shop got done with my car early on Friday!! So here come the pics:

JPizzle, yeah, they're pretty high and what I like about this install is that the gas shocks are counterweighted, so you can leave the doors at ANY angle, without the doors lifting or falling by themselves.

For those wondering: The door panels turned out really nice. I wanted to maintain a stock appeareance, so I had the shop re-upholster the panels in black leather. Lemme know if you guys wanna see pics of the panels.

Default custom panel

OK, I don't know what that line above the handle is, because it's not really there. Optical anamoly of some sort...

Anyhow, as you can see, it looks pretty much stock. COmpare it to the very first pic in this thread, and you'll see where they collapsed the curvature of the panels. They were able to keep the air vents (they told me that they may have had to relocate them onto the plastic corner pieces on the dash).

Lackland Airforce Base in Texas, of course! I was actually out there for a friend's Boot Camp Graduation, and I found it in one of the base's gift kiosks/vendors. This was 2 months prior to buying the Z, but I bought the ninja knowing that it'd be hanging in my Z someday!

Aside from that, I think you'd be able to find one at a Japanese novelty/toy shop. We've got dozens here in CA, but I'm not sure about FL.
