Default Window seal and clicking rear axle on 2005 350z

Hi
I have a full two year Nissan extended warranty on my 2005 350z. I have two issues:

- My driver window does not have a complete seal when it is closed. I can see it clearly drop when I open the door and clearly go back up when I close it but there is still a very very tiny gap remaining which is visible from the outside - the top rubber seal does not fully cover the top rim of the glass and at 70-80mph the wind starts whistling in your ear..very annoying.

- I also have the clicking rear axle issue, when changing gear at slow speeds it is fully audiable if you drive with the windows open.

I have looked in 3 5 0z-tech.com/zwiki/Category:TSB (had to space the "350" out in the link as it kept coming up with ****** for some reason) and have found one TSB relating to the clicking rear axle: 3 5 0z-tech.com/zwiki/TSB_04-065_-_Suspension_Clicking_Noise_From_Rear_Axle (again, had to space the "350" out in the link as it kept coming up with ****** for some reason). My query is it seems to relate to 2003-2004 models, yet my 2005 (non-rev up) is affected and this is clearly a common problem as I have heard of 2007/2008 HR models also being affected. I cannot see any TSB relating to the window not fully closing or window seal issue. Can anyone see a TSB relating to this?

Am I right in assuming both will be fully covered under warranty as both are clearly "common issues" and NOT wear and tear?

I also have creaking drop links - is this covered under warranty too? If not I can get my local garage to help me spray them by putting it on their ramp/lifter.

Thanks for any help and info.

What was the reason they gave you for not fixing it under warranty as it is a known issue and therefore should be covered?

Welcome. The clicking rear axle subject is 6 years old. Take it to Nissan. They will fix it.

Thanks David. Will they also fix the window seal issue as this too appears to be a "common issue" but cannot see a TSB relating to it? As mentioned the window goes up and down fine but there seems to be a small "leak" or gap. After having done an extensive search on this I found it appears to be a common issue but no TSB relating to this. I suspect it could be requiring a new motor but then again it goes up and down fine, just not up fully, even when the car is locked.

Because the TSB's relate to earlier 2003/2004 cars will my 2005 car still get fixed under warranty - purely for the fact a TSB exists (regardless of year)? I don't want to take it to a dealer show them the TSB and they so "no it only applies to the earlier year and not my year". If they do put up arguments like this what should I say? Thanks for any help.

Contact Nissan corporate. Give them your VIN. They will tell you that 2005's are not subject to the "Rear axle clicking noise" TSB.

As a side note, are you sure you really have the same rear axle clicking noise? Do you only hear a single click (similar to the sound you hear if you put two quarters together between your thumb and finger) when you shift and the car goes into a low gear (1 or 2)? Cause that's something completely different and it's not covered by any warranty.
