Tommy kaira
evo-r
forged performance
I couldn't AGREE more. Except I would encourage you to go with #1 or #3. Whatever you get he is bound to LOVE the gift because its coming from you.

The Tommy Kaira is going to the hardest to get, yet is prob the most baller status ****.

The EVO-R is a bit too crazy for my taste, its got the rainbow titatium look that I just don't think belongs as a focal point of the interior, esp if the rest of the interior is stock.

I OWN the FORGED PERFORMANCE **** and LOVE IT!!!! Its the perfect weight, and feels like it was made for my hand. I drove my buddies Z with the stock **** yesterday and really missed shifting with the forged ****, night and day difference. It is a clean and very classy look, yet is at home in a highly modified or stock interior -- 100% Perfection

here is a nice review on g35driver.

If you are ready to buy one you can find one on the forums here ordering directly from Forged or go to their website.

GOOD LUCK!

^ you know, I was actually in the same spot debating between the arc and forged ***** myself. I tried the arc and I didnt like the size of it, didn't like how the leather shift **** boot wasn't kept in place anymore and drooped down, it was too light and didn't provide enough FEEL. Then I got a hold of the ***FORGED*** **** and never looked back. Its WEIGHTED, provides an excellent feel, holds the shift boot in place, and seems to fit in my hand perfectly. Shifting couldn't be more pleasent.

Just order it for him. As my girlfriend says "Don't argue with me, I always know whats best for you anyways"

You do realize he saw your thread, right?
Anyway, I'd go for the Forged ****.

And see how fast this thread is "growing". Next time you have a question, let your gf ask (If she is hot, otherwise find some picture off the internet lol). Fact is, it is not because she is a woman. It is because she has shown how much she cares about him.

Consider hand size, some cylinders might be too thin; if smaller hand then some ball shaped variations could be too large. The ball fits well in the palm from any angle, which is why it's default design for any manual. The cylinder requires more finger action, but some prefer the leveraging with that design.

With Black/Orange car a darker color seems best, silver too contrasty. Carbon/Leather Steel mixes are 'classy', but have to match personality, depends on 'aesthetic maturity' level. Your initial choice has a novelty factor to it, which can get 'old' fast.

Innocuous, but solid is a good property set to have, for any male. The colorful designs can look great at first site, but a bit gaudy over time; depends on interior too; is it stock, or heavy on gizmo 'n' bling-ware?

http://www.optionimports.com/shiftknobs.html has a several more designs that might give you some ideas. I believe it's best to have something that screws directly into fitting, as better fit and won't loosen. At least you could always return it if it doesn't 'work' for him.

I don't like mixes of shapes, such as ball and long neck, the 'light bulb,' they stand up too far out of the base, or odd 'ergonomic' shapes for fingers etc., as they can limit movement; good in one position but not others; more suited to automatics.

A ball with short, wide next might not be bad; the Momo Duke might be nice; the leather lower hemisphere is interesting.
The Sparco Techno could work although more complex layering of black and silver.

Also from the above link, look at Nismo Aluminum Black, Carbon fiber. The first is simple, with the reflectivity of the black aluminum consonant with waxed black paint. The Carbon Fiber adds some visual texture, with a small amount of silver metal for contrast.

Any Carbon Fiber shift ****. Nismo one is nice. MOMO has some decent ones as well. Any luck to what you have chosen.

Default install shift **** too

If you want to really surprise ..

btw, another issue is mass, might look into heavier steel models too.
See http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftkn...hiftknobs.html

Various shapes, look at galleries for size comparisons. Gunmetal aka anthracite, isn't flat, has some speculation to give some light highlights. Matte could be too heavy in all the black.

We don't have reverse lock-out requirements to worry about.

The carbon patterning is sophisticated, but I wouldn't put it in a non-heavy-mod'd base, it's a nismo edition match after all. It would be a bit pretentious in a GT too, imo, of course.

I personally have the Tommy Kaira ****, and this is the one mod I appreciate the most. The **** weighs over 1lbs, and makes the throws feel a lot shorter.
But this **** does have a hefty price tag, has a long wait time, and the only vendor to carry it is visionary racing, and it seems that they have been banned for some reason.

I'd recommend the Project Mu

Not the greatest pics but it'll give you an idea.

I also like the ARC and Tommy Kaira, they're just kinda common around the boards.
