Default Passenger Window problem

Before i ask the question i just wanna say i used the search feature for a few hours and couldnt find the answer.

i have an 03 touring and usually when i have my windows down and i use the auto-up feature to close them they both go the whole way up and then the passenger side drops a few inches(so then i must put it up the rest of the way with out the auto-up feature). Is this the big window motor issue everyone talks about or is it something else?

Mine used to do the same thing, and then eventually it would only work intermittently. Take the door apart and clean all the buildup out of the window motor. There are threads on here that show how to do it. Mine has worked perfectly for over a year since doing that, and it's free, other than your time.

Nevertheless its there so you might as well check it out! Oh and just so you know some have had great results with the cleaning method and others have failed within a few weeks of cleaning. That being said the $130 from Autozone was not too much for me to just replace it. G/L

cleaned mine about 2 months ago and it still works perfectly. Best part is the money I saved I decided to get a new suspension. That's a lousy way to think.

Another tip:

After you clean the motor, try to avoid the "auto down" feature if you can.
My theory is: The abrupt stop in the motor on the way down causes the premature build-up inside.

My driverside window use to die all the time or bounce on the come-up. I just avoid the "one-press auto-down" and it's been fine, or at least, lengthen the interval for cleaning.
