Default New 350z owner of a 2003 - Need recommendation on body / paint work

Okay - Here is what I am looking at.

1. The front bumper cover is cracked from the lower driver side bottom to the left front reflector. The crack is about 2 to 3 inches.

2. The front bumper, forward half of the hood, the left and right body panels over the front wheels have significant rock / bug damage to the clear coat and paint - such that the metal is showing through.

3. Both left and right headlight lenses are fogging over. Aside from these (3) issues, the car is perfect for me.

Do you all recommend simply redoing the paint job on the front of the car, or should I have the entire front bumper cover replaced (there is no real damage aside from the crack).

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Sorry about the lack of pics - will post up pics tomorrow. I was planning on just trying plastic cleaner / polish tomorrow - will do both before and after...

Thanks for the responses.

How about you bring it to a local body shop and see what they recommend?

We are not a body shop.

Thanks for clearing that up...

Sorry about not posting the pics initially (Rotations really eat up your time).

Before w/ Bra on the car when purchased (note both Headlights are hazed)
<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/OEz-qQbSBl41OQ5yD6zjFQ?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=embedwe bsite"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_tGd41fWx_AI/SmJR8UuhDyI/AAAAAAAAATo/wboFzFMA9bs/s800/IMG_0061.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/aboveliquidice/DropBox?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=embedwebsite">Drop Box</a></td></tr></table>

After removing the bra - here is a pic of the front bumper damage (the crack extends from the bottom of the reflector to the bottom of the bumper)
There is also two holes where something impacted the bumper.
<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/m35dTCtPp3vJrUpCz6bGyg?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=emb edwebsite"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_tGd41fWx_AI/SmJR-uHu8wI/AAAAAAAAATw/Euwsn77DND4/s800/IMG_0064.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/aboveliquidice/DropBox?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=embedwebsite">Drop Box</a></td></tr></table>

This is a close up of the haze on the Right Headlight.
<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/RRu5570iUsz6vHns0b-csQ?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_tGd41fWx_AI/SmJR_QZgJmI/AAAAAAAAAT0/lqeyfLcyklE/s800/IMG_0068.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/aboveliquidice/DropBox?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=embedwebsite">Drop Box</a></td></tr></table>

This is the product I used today after reading some of the forum info out there.
<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/EbOD-FPnsP30nsg2Y-Tp_Q?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_tGd41fWx_AI/SmJR_6IEQFI/AAAAAAAAAUA/XgQymkfJXSE/s800/IMG_0073.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/aboveliquidice/DropBox?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=embedwebsite">Drop Box</a></td></tr></table>

It worked decently - I would say a 75% improvement. It is better - but you wouldn't brag about the results.

Right Headlight After.
<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/t_iMJ5EtfCtfw25kC9_4SA?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=emb edwebsite"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_tGd41fWx_AI/SmJR9l5M2gI/AAAAAAAAATs/j65Fqf6Sw9A/s800/IMG_0081.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/aboveliquidice/DropBox?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=embedwebsite">Drop Box</a></td></tr></table>

Left Headlight After.
<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Sjlii4ESZs3Eie9u0VNWFA?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=emb edwebsite"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_tGd41fWx_AI/SmJR_fCKzDI/AAAAAAAAAT4/uyAjN96qQc4/s800/IMG_0082.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/aboveliquidice/DropBox?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=embedwebsite">Drop Box</a></td></tr></table>

So the real issues that remain are the damage to the bumper on the lower left side (pictured above) and the bug damage / rock damage that covers the majority of the bumper and forward half of the hood. This is difficult to see - but here is a pic. Note: This is after washing... these are not just bugs (although they do look like it)
<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/VmyEvMqGPylaP1kFNDwreA?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=emb edwebsite"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_tGd41fWx_AI/SmJR_r4tUlI/AAAAAAAAAT8/T6YClgmJYb8/s800/IMG_0085.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/aboveliquidice/DropBox?authkey=Gv1sRgCMGN5s_G1tCzWg&feat=embedwebsite">Drop Box</a></td></tr></table>

Repainting bumpers involves labor. Labor which costs more then the bumper will be worth. I don't see too much damage. You can try finding a OEM one on here Or I think we have a OEM one in the back I'll get rid of for $100 bucks. Its still in good condition.

OR....
How Bout just pick up a new front bumper. Were having a sale on V2's. It will probably cost you just as much to repair and refinish the bumper then to just buy and get a V2 painted or we can also do paint.
