The Official Shift Knob Thread
#361
I'll snap a few tomorrow for you. There's nothing too special about it except it sits a lot lower than stock and the throws to me don't feel any shorter really, but they feel like they go in a bit smoother.

Here's a few I took today. Sorry for the crappy phone camera quality. Some of them I took with the flash on just to show the blue flakes.
Also after driving with the **** a little more I do notice a slightly shorter throw and it takes less effort to put into gear. It does unscrew really easily though..does anyone have that problem as well? If so what did you do to stop it from loosening while shifting? I don't wanna put threadlock on it since the OEM **** was a pain.

I've had plenty of chances throughout the years in getting a TK shift **** but there's no base finisher for it or all shift **** except zeetoyz, so zeetoyz it is for me. Discontinued unfortunately but they still sell their finisher (I think) to those who has other style shift **** and want that brushed stainless steel finish at the base versus the black rubber grommet from Home Depot.
I've had this **** for 9 years and it still look new. Bump for zeetoyz shifter, it's over one pound as well

Found a guy who makes these locally. I think he has 3 sizes in this color scheme. (Small= 3" / Medium= 4.5" / Large= ???)

I got my car just a week or so ago and the first thing i did was make this for it.. Used a raw rod of a super hard bronze aluminum alloy, comes in at 1.8 lbs.
not quite done with it btw.. it needs to be EP'ed. so when im done it will shine like gold

Got a custom burn purp/blue titanium **** coming from Chris @ wc lathe werks. I asked him to also build a custom 3" titanium extension for me with the same color scheme. It arrives Wednesday so i'm excited to see the finished product.
Updated with photos. I may also ask Chris if he can build me an extension at 1.5" length. 3" extension is fine and a thing of beauty but in case I ever want to shorten it I'd have that available.

Bringing this thread back to life and a big THANK YOU to all that posted since it was started. Gave me a lot of ideas and pointed me toward the vendors I ultimately bought from.
Bought my base Z in 2005 new and have pretty much kept it stock except for the pedals and a Data System Illusion rear spoiler. I added the TMW A6 Leopard shift ****(satin) with a Zeetoys finisher(aluminum)..feels great in my hand is really nicely weighted...love it. The e-brake and shift boot are from Redlinegoods.com and the quality of the leather and stitching are top notch...got silver and orange stitching to compliment the seats and trim. Simple but very nice upgrade that really puts a smile on my face.
Also just recently added a Invidia Gemini exhaust system and absolutely LOVE it...feels like a new car again. And going to add a Motordyne plenum spacer and call it a day.
