Scratches on exterior silver door handles
Hi guys
I've done lots of searching but can't find an answer. When I bought my car the exterior silver door handle on the driver door had lots of light scratches on it which is really noticable. I have put off fixing the issue up to now but it is quite a blemish which I have decided to get sorted. Please can anyone tell me what the best solution is to remove light scratches from the exterior door handles? I assume the only real way is to have them repainted or will t-cut or very very fine sanding do the job? I have seen other 350z's and it appears this is a common issue so wondered what others have done to fix this issue if they experienced it. I assume the handles are silver painted hard plastic or metal.
I'm seeing a friend in a couple of weeks who is a bodywork specialist who's doing some other work on my car so think it will be an ideal time to get the door handle fixed at the same time if indeed it needs a new coat of paint.
Thanks for any help and info.

i always thought they were painted silver but just recently been working on a pair....they arent painted, they are plastic with some kind of metal stuff on them...they are wierd. but not just normal paint....i would just paint them black or silver. probably the best and easiest way to fix.
