Default Paint crack on repainted bumper

I had my car back bumper repainted about a year ago and something bump in to it and the paint crack like an egg. Why is this? My front bumper which was never repainted never cracked when something bump in to it. Also I'm thinking about getting a fiberglass body kit. Will the fiberglass kit paint crack if something hit it?
maybe someone with years of experience can answer this.

Thanks for any help.

The paint cracked bc most likely the painter didn't use a flex additive in the clear. Take it back to where you got it painted and have them repaint it. As far as a fiberglass bodykit goes, if the painter adds flex to the clear, the kit itself will crack before the paint will.

I am willing to bet they added flex additive. The problem is you hit it too hard and most likely cracked the gel coat on the bumper. Just the nature of the beast. fiberglass is strong, but can be brittle when hit

^ He still has his stock bumper it was just repainted, no gel coat to worry about. For an example, I have taken an old stock bumper and physicially wrapped it around a pole and the paint didn't crack, peel, split, seperate or anything. His paint shouldn't have cracked.

in that case, you still need to factor in factory paint vs aftermarket. factor paint will almost always bond better than a respray
