Its so that you dont have to reach all the way back for the seatbelts... the '04's come with them but the '03's did not... so i guess its for comfort or convenience more than anything

It also keeps the metal clip from knocking the side.

My dealer didn't have a separate part number for this and claim, based on examining one on an '04, that there's no way to get the seatbelt through it. You'd have to buy the whole belt assembly

I definately want to get one. I'm tired of twisting my back

The Nissan part number is: 86848-CD000 According to the parts guy at my dealership, it was an optional part available for the 2003 models.. He showed me the book.. They get $24.95 for them.. (Don't tell anyone but there cost is $18.45)

I'll order a set depending how easy or hard the installation is..

I went to my dealer to buy the same extender like the 04 models. They said it is not available for the 03"s. I called nissan usa and was told that I would have to replace the complete seat belt assembly about $250+ ea. plus install would be about $200 to $300. They said that there is no way to put the clip on a installed seat belt. Let me know if that part works.

That's what my dealer showed me too when I first asked them about it. Then made them look at an '04. They said no you can't add to an '03 without whole assembly.

Does the part number match what MIKE3348 posted?

Part # 86848-CD000 IS the actual BELT EXTENDER that extends the physical LENGTH of the belt not how the belt is held out in the picture above.

That part number is in the 2003 350Z Popular Parts & Accessories catalog.

I will research and find out if it works with the 04's.

We can get you this part for $21.25 plus shipping (tax if in CA)

The belt digs into my neck as well, I got a NISMO seat belt pad and it sure fixes that problem. The NISMO pads we carry are very Plush and comfortable.

the Seat Belt Pads are $19.50.

Hum I thought the belt extender was standard equipment since they came on my car. It would be a ***** reaching the belt without those things.

Maybe you can cut the little plastic on top where the seat belt goes through, slip the seat belt in there, and it will work? Kind of stupid to order the complete seat belt assembly..

Seems like some aftermarket company could easily make an extender with a slit for the belt to slide into. I agree it's ridiculous to buy the whole rig and then have the install hassle.
