I found the vinyl material available here.

Scotchcal has many more colors than Scothlite. It is only 2mil though.

Do you know which one it is though? Also, what did you mean by "it is only 2 mil THOUGH"?? The thinner ones are not better than the thicker ones? I would assume the thinner ones are easier to manipulate??

Correct. But it will not be as durable. Road rock could have you "re-vinyling". Which is far better than re-painting!!

I never compaired it to my civic you glue eating tard, just the MSRP it relation to covering it with crap. You like a 120$ flat black condom for your Z then thats you, personally I think it degrades a car.
You're criticizing a guy who covered a car with matte black vinyl. How much of your "Carbon Fiber" is more than an overlay?

so question I have is what do you do if a small rock hits it? Since it's not paint how does one go about fixing it?

Remove the entire piece and reapply a new one. It seems like a PITA, but if the same happens to a painted panel, the procedure is to repaint it.

robbins, dont be an idiot. two big perks to this, the owner gets his car the color he wants it, and the original paint is protected underneath. going to look pristine as hell if he ever sells it.

Does anyone know how the vinyl reacts to weather? How long would it hold up to say... a summer of being parked in the sun or a few rain storms? Provided it doesn't mess with the paint underneath, I think this would be a cool way to switch up the look of your ride.

well i would assume the vinyl is durable, since they say it will last 4 to 6 years. I think as long as its not white, but black, it would be fine under those whether conditions.

I'm pretty sure if any of us cared about the value of our car, we wouldn't be on a forum where 99% of the threads involve modifying our cars.

I see nothing wrong with vinyl wrapping your car... you can remove it and still have OEM paint. whats the big deal?
