Please help!: Does anyone know someone with rear carbonfiber fenders!!
Hey guys, this is my first thread. I just bought rear carbon fiber fenders and it looks like a component carbon fiber part. Has anyone gotten these installed or know someone who has gotten them installed, and HOW!, i been asking around and noone around my way really knows how to install it. PLEASE HELP!
i live in rosedale queens, near long island but i would travel to get them put on, ok i have tooken them to the body shop but they keep on telling me they will need to break my cars body to make it fit.....is this true...is there another way.

the rear fender on our Zs is part of the body/frame shell- it cannot be separated unless you undo the spot welds from factory.
depending on which fenders you got, trimming of the fenderwell may be necessary if you want your over-fenders to be the 'true' outter most part of the car.
mostlikely they will have to use sheet metal screws and/or bonding epoxy to attach the fenders to the body-
you can just glue/bolt the rear fenders on the car, however then your wheels will be limited to the OEM fender -- in the case if you wanted to run aggressive negative offset wheels.. etc.

^ His quarter pannels are only a 10mm difference I believe so going with a more aggressive wheel set up isnt really an option with them to begin with. Brickyard350, you have a pm
EDIT: I think you took the whole breaking the body thing out of context (unless the shop was going to ruin your new quarter pannels). Since they're carbon, its pretty much the way it fits is the way it fits. No extra fabrication would be done to make it fit or line up any better.

Thanks guys. I bought them thinking it wouldnt be hard to put on...i guessed very wrong. Im just gonna return them if not sell them on here and just get a scoop CF hood cause im not trynna put them on and then they crack or get messed up...then what?...it will be much harder to find CF fender then a regular fender, also if they cut the fenderwell, it might lead to exposed metal and may lead to rust which I REALLY DONT WANT....i never seen anyone with it and honestly i think the CF rear fenders will LOOK SICK!!!....NOT FOR NOTHING GUYS but the look reminds me of the Audi R8...thats why i originally wanted it, and also i can get wider wheels ;-)... anyone think i should still do it?????

Good to see another local. I am also in Rosedale. I did know someone at a shop way up in LI, off 110 I believe but the shop closed down. Sorry I can't be of more help.
