Default How do you paint emblems?

Was thinking of using Night Shades to black out my round Nissan emblem on front bumper and rear hatch. Can anyone give me some advice on the best way to do this? I was thinking of removing the emblems, cleaning them, using some 800 grit sandpaper to prep for the Night Shades (about 2 coats with wet sanding with 1500 grit between coats) then applying a glossy clear to finish. Any help would be great. I just can't see paying around $60 for black emblems when I already have a can of Night Shades just sitting on the shelf.

Do it! You should also make a DIY with before and after pictures to inspire and help others who have your same interest!

I hope to see the finish product soon! Pictures too!

I think I'd sand them until the chrome is gone. Maybe not.

aren't our emblems plastic?

you can use Krylon plastic primer and then paint whatever color you want after the sanding...

who's gonna be the first with pink?

Going to do it this weekend. Actuall changed from going night shades to duplicors Shadow kit to paint chrome wheels trim etc to give it the black chrome look. Will do a diy on it too.

No I'm not. I work for a private company, and I'm paramedic only.

Did emblems today. They came out okay. Not too bad for the first time doing any kind of automotive painting. Not to say for DIY, just followed the instructions on the back of the box of Shaddow by Duplicolor.
