Yes, I have also been waiting for this hood. It was a design that is similar to the Top Secret hood for the s2000. They also have 2 more design coming out along with this one. My shipment have been pushed back so many times.

what's up Adam, I do remember seeing a Black one with Gold GT-N. That was very clean. Very nice

The other two design is one similar to the Amuse style, and another one similar to (copy of) Veilside V3. There's also a 3rd design that's not mentioned. And I had it ordered specially for me. I'll not share here. But I have been told it would arrive July. haha, and now it's Nov.

Hi jeff,

Seibon gave me a choice between the hood that I have and that one on your s2000. They both have it now for the Z I just felt that the one I picked was a bit more aggresive so I ended up with that.

I normally agree on the hood pins, but I can tell you from experience with the Seibon that they use all the factory hardware, and everything lines up perfectly, and no need for the pins from what I have seen. these are not the lightest units out there, nor are they really intended to be., as its more of a form over function type deal (ourely styling). Their weaves are nice and tight, and no bubbles or misalignments as you often find in the cheap stuff (we have sold many of their Subaru hoods).

its not the stock latch on the frame that i am worried about.. its the way the hood latch (attached to the hood with fiberglass/metal studs) is the weak link.. bonding metal to carbon requires a good solid anchor. its still only resin keeping it all together... air buffeting from high speed driving, will cause repetition of the latch back n forth... that causes the resin to get loose... in extreme cases... all it takes is the hood catching a little more air than necessary and Zing! up it goes..

i really dont mean to scare anyone.. but its just worth the $40 for hood pins for that extra piece of security in the back of your mind..

I do agree with both of you guys. Chest and Z1. The Seibon hoods are one of the highest quality out there. From it's fitment to it's construction. But since we do race our cars. It's not worth the risk, especially these light hoods will go thru such a high speed. Even professional team put hood pins on stock hoods. Rather to be safe then sorry. If you choose not to use the hood pins. You are taking a risk on your own. I have never seen any Seibon hoods fly off. Because it's built very strong. But we still always recommend our customer to take the pre caution.

funny that you brought it up coz my friend had a freak accident witha CF hood in the freeway and what Cheston said indeed happened. It flew up and crushed the Windshield. Thing is the Hood was made by Fiber Images which we all know one of the best CF hoods we can get here Stateside. Regardless of the brand a litle extra precaution cant be that bad. It might end up saving your life.

i like the hood on black tracks car better....as far as security goes...i reccomend taking off the rubber piece from the stock hood (it runs along the front part of the hood and is attachd by plastic pins)...take that off and put it on the aftermarket hood....this prevent air from getting under the front of the hood and ultimately lifting it up...thats what i did with my CF hood
