My wife bought a 2008 Pearl White Touring Z last week in excellent condition except the cargo mat was a little rough around the edges. Being in the auto upholstery business I told her I would jazz it up for her. She liked it so much she told me to post some pictures.

How it was done. I picked out a cloth seat upholstery fabric that went with the colors in her car, the pearl white exterior and the light grey interior. I then hand drew a "Z" on the material and cut it out. After that I took a piece of darker leather (didn't have to be leather, but I like working with leather) and put it under the cut out "Z" and sewed around the edge of the "Z" on the cloth portion. To make it personal I added her initials in raised letters about a foot above the "Z". Since the cloth material is fairly thin I glued it down to the original cargo mat, cut it off around the edges and then sewed a "hand rolled" binding around the edge. Anyway, she likes it and I guess that's what counts.
