Default Matching Paint

I have a mint (Graystone?) 2005z and someone backed into my frount fender resulting in minor dammage. I've gotten four estimates but the problem is that all of them say that matching the color and clear coat is next to impossible. All but one recommended blending the new paint into the door and hood. Two questions. Why is it so difficlut to match the color and is there any way to avoid the blending. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

it will never be perfect but a good shop can get it 99%. keep looking for a shop who will guarantee a near perfect match without blending. you might have to give them an extra week of leeway to play with.

Color is difficult to get perfect but it can be done. Ask for a paint shop recommendation in your regional forum.
