It would look pretty cool. Not sure if I would rock one but it would be a cool new product for the Z aftermarket.

If I were there, I would give him mine to make a prototype. Surely, there is someone with a Z in PA who would love to get a free one-off shifter gate for being the guinea pig.

Once the OP has a proto-type, I would sign up for a group buy, what do you guys think?

Is the guy who makes the shift gates located in PA? If so, whereabouts?

Naw, I think he lives in washington. His name is Chris terry, he goes by supermac, you can email him here:

SUPERMACNUM1@aol.com

Or message him on his ebay page.

He made a really sweet short shifter for the 3kgt, I had it, I still remember when he made the gated shifter. Maybe if enough people email him he will make it, lol.

@srry110 - Hey, what's up. In Pottstown myself...

(Apologies for blatant hijacking of thread...)

I'd be in to do an early deposit type thing on a group buy so someone can make this thing.

Think it would cost significantly more than that given that it's for a Z. Even aftermarket *cubbies* cost $186 for these cars -.-

thread necro bump... you can blame my google images search for that..

search the other newer thread " gated shifter"

the issue is that most cars that use a gated shifter use cables to operate the transaxle to shift the gears.. ours mounts on the transmission itself.

The AB flug gated shifter for the Z32 was a full shift rod, cup and mount and shift gate, all as a concentric assembly. Reduced vibration from the shifter shaft.
it was 750 bucks ten years ago at that times yen conversion.

anyways the guy is trying to make one now.. dont expect him to be working on it during the holidays tho.
