Default Is it ok to use car cover when it snow outside?

I live in nj so have to deal with snow during winter times. Was wondering if using car cover when it snow would cover messed up paint on the car?

I wouldn't put one on mine outside unless it was an outdoor cover especially made for such weather.

any waterproof car cover with good fabric will also be safe for your paint. i've never heard anyone ever complain that it didn't.

+1 depending on your neighborhood, a hooded car will always attract more unwanted attention

From the courtesyparts website:

Manufacturer: Genuine Nissan Accessories
Category: Exterior
Product SKU: 350Z-CVER
Product Description
Keep your 350Z coupe clean and happy with Nissan's custom designed 350Z coupe vehicle cover. Made from Silverguard Plus!

Silverguard Plus is a 300 Denier polyester material with a reflective, water resistant coating on the outer layer and a soft, non-abrasive layer on the inside.

It is a great choice for all-around car cover use, suggested for most conditions except extreme rain, snow or ice. 300 denier is a strong, heavy weave, which will not rip or tear easily.

The silver coating on Silverguard Plus does an excellent job of reflecting sunlight, while keeping rain and animal droppings from damaging the vehicle finish. The special soft inner layer pampers the most delicate paint finish.

I know the one from courtesyparts.com is a good one but kinda of expensive. Is there a alternative to that one but cheaper I can get?

If you want cheap can not help you. If you want quality search "Noah."

personally I would only use a car cover that was designed for use in snow, and only if the car was being stored for long periods at a time. the more you touch the paint the more chance you have of harming it. would not want to put a car cover on / off / on / off constantly.

something gets stuck in the cover and you put the cover on the car and rake it across the paint on accident? not pretty.

be illegal. Suggest you write a letter to both local and state officials to verify.
