i just broke my drivers door handle.

there is a fixed bolt that is glued into the handle assembly, mine broke.

yours might be working itself apart.

there are two grommets on the interior of the door at the jam.

pull the top one, try to tighten.

if it continues to pull away and can't be adjusted you might need a new one.

sounds like plastic fail. the design of the handles is interesting, but apparently not fail proof. make sure you get the correct handle as both sides are unique.

Same thing happened to me recently, got a new handle from the dealer for about $80 and it only took about 10 mins to swap out.
